Requirements
Degress or non-degress are conferred by the Institute only on those who have met the following requirements:
No student shall be recommended for graduation unless he has
satisfied all academic and other requirements prescribed for
graduation.
Each student shall file his
application for graduation upon enrollment in the second semester with
the Office of the Dean concerned and the Resistrar. Three (3) weeks
after the opening of classes for the second semester, the Dean or his
duly authorized representative shall submit to the Registrar a list of
candidates for graduation. The Registrar in consultation with the
Chairman of the Department concerned shall examine deficiences that
will qualify a candidate for graduation. Should there be any question
about any candidate for graduation, his name shall not be deleted from
the list, but footnotes to that effect shall be made in case there are
complaints.
Ten (10) weeks before the
end of the last semester, the Registrar shall publish a complete list
of duly qualified candidates for graduation. All candidates for
graduation shall have their deficiences cleared and their records
completed thirty (30) days before the date of graduation.
The diploma, transcript of
records and certification shall be issued upon the completion of the
clearance for graduating students, and payment of necessary fees.
Graduation with Honors
Students who complete their courses with the following averages, computed on the basis of units shall be graduated with honors:
In the case of students
taking courses with a prescribed length of less than four years, he
shall be graduated "With Honors" .
Any student who is a
candidate for graduation "With Honors" must have completed at least 75
% of the total number of academic units or hours required for
graduation and must have been in residence prior to graduation. He must
have taken a normal prescribed load of not less than 15 credit units
each semester and must have no failing grades.
Commencement and Baccalaureate Exercises
The Institute shall have one commencement exercise for the tertiary level, a regular graduation at the end of the school year.
Attendance at general
commencement exercises is encouraged. Graduating students who cannot
participate in the general commencement exercises due to justifiable
reasons must apply for a graduation in "absentia" with the Office of the Registrar at least ten (10) days before the commencement exercises.
Academic Attire
Candidates for graduation for degress or non-degree courses shall be
required to wear the prescribed academic attire during the the
baccalaureate service and commencement exercises.
